INFO: ABOUT TAYLOR MAISON

What is this blog about?

I love fashion, beautiful food & home design but can never afford all the things I want! So I love to be creative and find ways to make stylish things myself. This resulted in my lifestyle blog with a twist, a daily edit of inspiration, ideas & tips for DIY fashion, food, décor, beauty, entertaining, the list goes on….

Why is it called TaylorMaison?

Taylor is my name, plus it’s a great play on home-made, which I blog about a lot. And everything sounds a better in french!

A little more about me…

I love fashion, I would describe my style as new London classic (I just made that up) but love to try new things. There’s nothing better than feeling great in an outfit, it’s a great way of expressing your personal style. Accessories are a huge part of my life, I’m always making new things, or re-working old pieces into something I can wear again and again.

My DIY fashion essentials: Ribbon and trims (as many varieties as possible but only get things you love), a basic sewing set, studs, t-shirt transfer paper.

I love entertaining and cooking for people at home but I’m not the most accomplished chef! I’m time stretched like everyone these days so don’t have the luxury of spending hours preparing a beautiful meal and, like most, I’m also calorie conscious and nothing makes me happier than finding a healthy alternative to a guilty treat I love (hence my dedication to re-worked desserts). I think you do eat with the eyes, so presentation of food is important for me.

My DIY food essentials: individual serving bowls (charity shops are great for these), frozen fruit, pastry shape cutters, packet mixes

I love interior design but can’t get over how expensive (non Ikea) furniture is. I also live in central London so have to be ‘creative’ with my limited living space. I could sit and look at pictures of beautifully decorated rooms all day and love thinking of ways to bring elements that I love into my own flat. When my home is beautiful and organised I’m happy!

My DIY interiors essentials: Staple gun (not expensive and I’ve got so much use from mine), clip picture frames, no more nails, spray paint, jars/ plant pots
