Home DIY: Lace Trinket Box

We had guests over for dinner last weekend, and one of them was nice enough to bring a box of Ferrero Rocher. While the actual chocolates didn’t last long, the box had been sitting on the counter for a week as I was reluctant to throw it away.

Then getting ready for bed one night I had a flash of inspiration and thought what a useful trinket box it would be if it looked a little prettier. It’s the perfect size for keeping my eye cream, watch and other random bits on my nightstand, and the lace lining fits with my bedroom decor.

How to DIY…
1.       Give the box a quick wash so it’s clean & shiny
2.       Find some wide lace trim, measure & cut to fit in the box
3.       Apply a thick coat of PVA glue to the inside of the box with an applicator sponge (PVA glue is perfect for this as it dries clear and is easy to clean if anything gets messy.)
4.       Before it dries press the cuts of lace into the glue
5.       Leave for a full 24 hours to dry before using
